As I read "The Help," it is my hope that my personal cultural awareness will increase through the experience of living this book. The baby

Really?  The baby is basically being raised by the Help.  The mother wants nothing to do with her.  She clearly has formed a bond with Ms.  I found this to be so sad.  The way that she cries for her mother and the mother just pushes her off on the help.  Was this practice common then?  Did everyone allow the help to raise their babies?  Is this how celebrities do it today?  Poor kids.
